ONDA’s Response to COVID-19

Firm News

ONDA is committed to providing the highest level of legal representation found in the State of Texas.  But above and beyond that calling, we are resolved to take every precaution necessary to ensure the health, safety and welfare of our clients and those considering using our firm’s services.

As the COVID-19 (“coronavirus”) situation evolves, we continue to monitor the latest information from the Centers for Disease Control as well as news from federal, state and local officials.  In response to this fluid state of affairs, we exercise our resources and meet our client’s needs through a variety of means.  Because “social distancing” is now encouraged, ONDA has the ability to consult with our clients and colleagues through various web-based video communication services, in addition to all document management, phone and e-mail resources.

Here are some common questions and our answers regarding ONDA’s commitment to you and your family law matter during this time:

Is ONDA open for business, and taking new clients?

Absolutely.  Our offices in Dallas, Frisco, San Antonio and Fort Worth are open and conducting business as always.  If you have questions or concerns about your case, or if you are considering filing a new case, please feel free to give us a call, or send us an e-mail.  Also, all of our attorneys and paralegals have the ability to work from home over secure networks, so there will be no lapse in communication or work done on your case.

Are Courts still available to receive my case, and conduct hearings if needed?

While all local courts in the DFW area are modifying their normal operating procedures, the electronic filing of your pleading is still available.  Texas courts are however restricting actual courtroom hearings to only emergency and essential matters at this time.  To learn what matters courts are still permitting, please contact your ONDA attorney directly.

Should I wait until the COVID-19 crisis is over before I contact my lawyer?

No.  If you are contemplating filing a family law matter such as divorce, modification or enforcement of a court order, it is our advice that you reach out to your ONDA attorney as soon as possible.  There are many important steps that can be taken right away.

The health and welfare of our employees, clients, colleagues and their families are of utmost importance to ONDA.  During this evolving situation we remain vigilant regarding your legal representation, and your overall wellbeing.
