Jacob Jeffries
Partner, Attorney at LawBiography
As a family law attorney, Jacob Jeffries believes in crafting the right strategy for the right moment. Having grown up in a family of potters, mosaic workers, and auto repairmen, he isn’t afraid to get his hands dirty and carefully consider the technical aspects of a case to keep it running smoothly.
Serving as both an advocate and a “translator” of his clients’ personal issues into “legalese,” his job is to guide them through the available options. This often involves showing them what pitfalls to avoid. Those he represents have come to rely on his candor and pragmatic views of a client’s overall case.
Over the years, Jacob has seen the practice of family law become ever more technical and understands this means it’s become easier for a party to lose its case based on a technicality. With this in mind, he’s taken the time to become Board Certified in Family Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and takes additional courses each year to maintain his membership in the Texas Bar College.
As a graduate of Baylor Law School and its rigorous “Practice Court” program, Jacob’s goal is to always be ready for every eventuality and to be better prepared than those he’s going up against. That level of commitment has resulted in many favorable rulings on behalf of his clients.
Jacob has been named to Thomson Reuters’ annual list of Texas Rising Stars for the years 2018-2023. He is also a one-time recipient of the “Relief Man Award” from the Denton County Alternative Dispute Resolution Program, and the winner of the prestigious Strasburger & Price Moot Court Competition while in law school.
Jacob has deep experience in a range of family law matters, including divorce, child custody and support, property division, marital agreements, appeals, enforcements, and much more. But he also has a wide breadth of experience handling matters that are rarely litigated or that invoke obscure issues from the Texas Family Code.
He’s well-equipped to help his clients with any family law dispute.
